Meditation online free audio – this Floating meditation is a lovely meditation to try with your little one or with an older child who is new to meditation.

This is a lovely and gentle introduction to the world of meditation. When little bodies feel stressed or anxious they often don’t recognise why they feel the way they do. A beautiful and relaxing technique for young children that helps reduce anxiety, anger, or stress is deep breathing.

Deep breathing can be easily taught to a young child. Instruct them to lay still and rest their hands on their tummy. They will feel their tummy rise up when they take a deep breath in and fall down when they let that breath out. Visualising things in their mind can further enhance their state of relaxation. Ask them to imagine they are a feather lightly floating through the air, or even a leaf floating on a perfectly still lake. Once they have mastered deep breathing, you could instruct them to attach thoughts or feelings to their breaths. Breathing in could represent positivity, happiness, and play, whilst breathing out could signal letting go of thoughts or feelings that make them sad or angry.

The language used is gentle and encouraging for little ones who have little to no experience with guided meditation.
