Welcome, my name is Julie Bond-Rowe and I am a Meditation Teacher & Mindfulness Educator, Mum and Wife (not in order of priority!).
I was first introduced to meditation in High School, a guided visualisation delivered by a Martial Arts instructor. I was in awe of how real and effective it felt. This planted the mindfulness meditation seed for me as I hope this site can for you and the children.
This moment in my adolescent years flowed into my desire to learn more and I later studied the art of Transcendental Meditation. I continued learning, finding Reiki, completing Reiki I and II and then a yearlong Reiki Master Healer Training. I sought out courses in Tarot, Astrology, Numerology, traveled to Nepal to study Buddhist practices and Meditation in the Mahayana tradition, and I completed a Diploma of Shiatsu & Oriental Therapies in 2002. In 2005 I completed a Certificate in Guided Meditation Teaching and retrained in 2011 and now hold a Diploma in Guiding and Teaching Meditation. I recently studied an Advanced Certificate in Holistic Communications. I am a senior member of the Meditation Association of Australia, the International Institute of Complementary Therapists (IICT) and a Certified Mindfulness Teacher with the International Mindfulness Teachers Association (IMTA).
My career now sees me in the much loved role of Senior Coach and Assistant Principal with the Australian Centre for Meditation and Mindfulness (ACMM) and I also facilitate meditation and mindfulness groups for adults and children in my community.
Meditation has been a constant reliable friend in my life. I sought out meditation initially as a way of supporting huge emotional challenges. I find now that it is part of my everyday life, a wonderful part that supports me and cements the core value that “I am worthy of love and care”. I share that value through meditation with my children, my family, other children and adults and I feel extremely grateful to have learnt this powerful healing tool.
I enjoy taking my young daughter and son through meditation and mindfulness experiences, and I can see that these guided journeys support them with the challenges life can deliver to a growing evolving child.
I saw a need for more meditations for our young ones, and started experimenting with my children’s kindergarten classes. I enjoyed immensely chatting with these children after I delivered a short guided meditation, to hear their wonderful accounts of places they went and what they experienced. My son expressed one time after a meditation, that he felt like Pooh Bear after he had honey! My daughter says she likes it because “we get to see what we dream about.”
I feel extremely grateful to have learnt this powerful healing tool and be able to share it with you. I sincerely hope your child receives as much benefit from it as I and my family do.
Blessings,
Julie
